Family Run
O’Grady School is run by husband and wife team, Mary and John O’Grady, ably assisted by Mary’s sisters Aine and Niamh. This family team has many years of experience in education and in running summer courses. We are proud of our excellent courses, and we consistently maintain the highest standards of professionalism.
Full Immersion
Our school is run on the principle of “full immersion”. Students stay with local host families and are completely involved in daily life of the family, neighbouring families and the wider rural community.
Progress Quickly By Connecting
Irish teenagers are an important part of the course. They attend classes every day, and act as helpers and friends for the students. All teenagers want to spend time with other teenagers, and this is a perfect way for them to speak English with Irish teenagers of their own age, chatting about teenage interests.
Our Course Fees are All Inclusive
Our course fee covers all classes, host family accommodation, transfers, excursions and activities. There are no hidden or surprise fees. Course fee including flight and travel insurance is offered to students choosing the accompanied flight option.
Accompanied Flights
We offer the option of traveling on a return flight accompanied by an adult from our school. Our accompanying adult meets the students at the airport, and accompanies them to Ireland, and then to our area, by private bus transfer.
Small Focused Groups
We are community based in the “real” hidden Ireland. Our courses run in small rural communities, where students get a true Irish welcome from everyone they meet— the warm friendly host families, the local teenagers and all the community.
Experienced Enthusiastic Teachers
All our teachers are qualified, native speakers, with experience of working with teenagers and young people. They have an interactive fun style, which brings out the best in their students. Lessons are fun and memorable, and students report that they really enjoy the school and classes.
Excellent Repeat and Referral Rates
We are proud of our 95% repeat and referral rate. Almost all of our students come to us by “word of mouth”, and many students repeat their experience here for 1, 2, 3 or 4 years. This high repeat and referral rate speaks for itself.
Fun Excursions
Every weekend, we organise a day long excursion to places of beauty and interest in Ireland. We visit Dublin every year, and other places visited include the Cliffs of Moher, Killarney, Cork, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Ballybunion, Galway and the Burren.
